Hey friends! We are two hours away from the end of #24in48, and I’m calling it a weekend. I’m ending at 16 hours and 9 minutes, so I didn’t hit the goal of 24 hours. But hey! That’s still a lot of reading, and I’m okay with the result! Here’s what I accomplished!
I finished Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo! And OMG get ready for that review tomorrrroooowwww.
I’m in the middle of 3 audiobooks (LOL HOW DID THAT HAPPEN??), and spent around 6 of those sixteen hours listening to one of them or another. What’s up Day of the Duchess (Sarah MacLean), Mister O (Lauren Blakely), and I Heard You Paint Houses (Charles Brandt).
So it may not seem like a lot, but I was only 130 pages into Crooked Kingdom when the readathon started, so IT WAS A LOT and also I AM BROKEN. *insert sobbing over fictional characters here*
Did anyone else participate in the #24in48 readathon? What did y’all accomplish?
I just discovered this readathon, and it sounds right up my alley! Especially since I have a bunch of books that need to be read in short order. So! I’ve decided to join a readathon this weekend! Hurray!Read More »
Hey y’all, and welcome to the end of the year! There’s only one week left in this trash fire of a year, so naturally, I’ve been thinking about what I want my reading to look like in 2018. In 2017, I tried (and failed – but only because I stopped keeping track in about June) to complete three different reading challenges, and I found it… stifling. I’m a mood reader! I also tried to dive head-first into the ARC reading game that a lot of book bloggers play, and I found that stifling as well. Like I said – I’m a mood reader! So I’m doing something very different in 2018, and I’m really excited about it. It is two-fold:
I’m done playing the ARC game for a while. I still have a giant pile of unread ARCs from 2017 and a decent amount for the first half of 2018 as well, so I’m covered for a while. I’m going to read what strikes me rather than worrying too much about deadlines and release dates. And maybe, by reading some of my backlist NetGalley titles, I can get my percentage up a little?
My reading challenges are so much broader. I’m participating in two reading challenges this year, but they’re not about fitting books into boxes – they’re about completing your goals. And that’s the kind of reading challenge that I’m about.
Hey hey, it’s Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is run by The Broke and the Bookish, and I’ve loved making it a regular post on this blog! This week, we’re talking about books on my fall TBR, and I COULDN’T NARROW IT DOWN TO TEN. So this is a Top 12 Tuesday post. I know, I know, I’m ridiculous.
Let’s dive right in! I’m so pumped to read all of these books.Read More »
