#TheReadingQuest TBR

Today has been awful in terms of news, so I’ve been planning out future blog posts and what I want to read this month. I stumbled across #TheReadingQuest on Twitter, run by the lovely Read at Midnight, and it starts tomorrow! So I’m joining up, and I’m pretty excited about it. It’s a nice compliment to #ARCAugust (and will hopefully help me tackle this TBR).

I’m not savvy enough with image editing to create my character card, but I’ll be following the Mage path (you can see the board if you go to Aentee’s original post in the previous paragraph).

Here we go!

A Book Set in a Different World:

Beasts Made of Night by Tochi Onyebuchi

I scored an eARC of this through First to Read and I’ve been so pumped to read it. It’s been on my #ARCAugust TBR and I’m making it a priority now. I’m so excited for it.

Pages: 304 | Marginalized Author | 20 EXP | 30 HP

A Book with a One Word Title:

Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman

This is another one I was super excited to get approved for. Thanks NetGalley! I can’t remember if this was on my #ARCAugust TBR, but it counts, and I’m excited.

Pages: 320 | 10 EXP | 32 HP

A Book Based on Mythology:

The Epic Crush of Genie Lo by F. C. Lee

I didn’t actually know that this book was based on mythology, but according to Goodreads, it is! Lucky me, because that makes it fit right in.

Pages: 336 | Marginalized Author | 20 EXP | 33 HP

The First Book of a Series:

Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller

This one releases at the end of the month, and I would love to actually get this particular ARC read before it’s release date, because it’s so highly anticipated! I’m also super intrigued about the gender-fluid MC.

Pages: 384 | 10 EXP | 38 HP

A Book that Contains Magic:

Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust

gmosag

Umm, a feminist Snow White retelling? I’m there.

Pages: 400 | 10 EXP | 40 HP

I’ve started planning out either side quests or another path to get some of these other books tackled, but we’ll see how all of this goes. My only fear with this TBR is that I sometimes need a contemporary cleanse between fantastical books and… pretty much everything on this TBR is fantasy. So we’ll see how that goes for me.

I am SO excited about this. I better get this post linked, because I’m down to the wire.

Happy reading!

-A.
