Hey hey, it’s Top Ten Tuesday! Top ten Tuesday is run by The Broke and the Bookish, and I participate on Instagram (@amandareadsandwrites) and here, when I have the time to prepare a post. Since the regular topics are on hiatus until August, I’ve been going through the backlist and choosing some old topics to feature each week – this week, it’s books that capture high school.
Here’s the caveat for this week’s post – some of the books I wanted to choose were books that are on my Kindle, BUT I had another book by the same author as a paper copy (because I so loved the one on my Kindle). So I haven’t read all of these, but I’ve read others by the author! I’ll make a note about that when it comes up.

- I Believe in a Thing Called Love by Maureen Goo (Note: I haven’t read this yet! But I read Since You Asked… and felt it was a great portrayal of high school.)
- Seven Ways We Lie by Riley Redgate (Note: I haven’t read this yet! But I read Noteworthy.)
- The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West (Note: I haven’t read this yet! But I read On the Fence.)
- Unteachable by Elliot Wake writing as Leah Raeder (I mean, aside from the fact that I didn’t know anyone who slept with a teacher?)
- Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen
- A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro
- Just Listen by Sarah Dessen
- To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
What do you think? Did I forget any books that are great representations of high school? If I went through my own reading archives, I could probably find more to list, but I’m happy with my choices. 🙂
